I use this to keep my horses hooves in great condition. Easily added to their feed and they find it very palatable.

My horses and ponies are barefoot as they are not in work. I have fed Hardy Hoof few years now and am confident they are having the right supplements to maintain healthy hooves. All of them are happy to eat it .

We started using Hardy Hoof many years ago on my abcess prone gelding and it really helped him to toughen up especially over difficult surfaces like gravel.  We now feed it to help our barefoot Arab mare stay comfortable as she does a lot of road work.

Hardy Hoof is.my go to supplement for my barefoot boy Sunny. He's 18 now and a lifetime without shoes, HH helps to maintain his strong healthy hooves.
Being a rather fussy feeder, it's apparently rather tasty too! 😋

Hardy Hoof has made a real difference in the condition of all the horses in my riding school.
My farrier has been very impressed with the difference it has made.

Have been using hardy hoof since last year - the improvement in both my horses hooves has been amazing - the website gives full descriptions of products and you can buy trial bags if you aren’t sure about palatibility - I am also using  other products from Feedmark - I believe these supplements are the best on the market…Highly Recommend.

It will be a few months before I can tell whether the hoof supplement is working but it was delivered quickly and my horse eats it in her feed with no issues.

Nutrition Information

Keratin is responsible for the resilient structure of the hoof wall. This is a structural protein also found in hair, wool, skin and fingernails, and is made up of certain amino acids. Providing the amino acids Methionine, Threonine and Lysine, which are present in high levels in Hardy Hoof™, allows Keratin synthesis, with Methionine being of particular importance because the horse can convert this into Cysteine, the amino acid that gives Keratin its strength and structure. In order for this to happen, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) must also be present. Ensuring a sufficient supply of these hoof-building nutrients helps promote healthy hoof structure, flexibility, and wear resistance, making Hardy Hoof™ an excellent choice for horses with thin soles, cracked hooves, or those who simply need extra hoof support.

Advances in science have allowed us to go even further with supporting hoof strength and quality through incorporating chelation technology in the Hardy Hoof™ formulation. Chelation involves the binding of minerals (nutritionally classed as metals) to another molecule with the purpose of increasing absorption and stability within the horse's gastrointestinal tract. Copper, Zinc and Manganese are chelated to the amino acid Glycine facilitating the absorption of the minerals as well as preventing them from binding to other nutrients and maximising overall nutrient utilisation within your horse. Copper and Zinc support cell growth and maintain Keratin production whilst Manganese supports the internal structures in the hoof.

Copper is an essential component in the building of Keratin bridges in the hoof, as it is a copper-dependent enzyme in cells that is responsible for building junctions between several proteins. Thus, if Copper is deficient the enzyme is compromised, affecting the Keratin bridge structure which ultimately could affect the hoof’s wear resistance.

Calcium is a macro-mineral that plays an important role in the formation of bones, muscles, teeth, and virtually every other structure in the horse’s body. Calcium is also crucial for good hoof growth. Calcium is necessary for the adhesion of one cell to the next, which is of particular importance in hooves, where cells are arranged tightly.

In addition to the amino acids and minerals, Hardy Hoof™ contains the highly researched B Vitamin, Biotin.  This vitamin significantly supports hoof health, growth rate and strength, Hardy Hoof™ contains a daily supply of 30mg of Biotin per 500kg horse to ensure an optimal dose for maintaining hoof growth and health.

Furthermore, Methyl sulphonyl methane (MSM) is included in Hardy Hoof™ as it is an excellent source of dietary Sulphur, a mineral necessary for the integrity of the hoof wall due to its role in bonding protein strands in the hoof.

Hardy Hoof™ also contains Iodine, which is essential for maintaining your horse’s healthy thyroid function, which in turn is necessary for hoof and hair quality. Finally, Linseed is widely used to support hoof quality, as it is rich in essential fatty acids, which help to seal moisture into the hoof. When combined with the phospholipid Lecithin (which is rich in Choline for cell flexibility) this supports the pliability of the hooves, and helps to maintain the optimum moisture level, stopping the hooves from absorbing external moisture. Hay diets, in particular, may be low in fatty acids.

For those wondering, "How long do hoof supplements take to work?", it is important to understand that hoof growth is a slow process, and it takes approximately 9 months for the new hoof horn to grow from the coronary band down to the weight-bearing surface. However, consistent use of Hardy Hoof™ provides the key nutrients required for long-term hoof strength, resilience, and flexibility. Whether you are looking for a solution for cracked hooves, or a way to strengthen your horse’s thin soles, Hardy Hoof™ delivers scientifically backed nutrition to support optimal hoof health.
